Laminar Z 9

The new model is at its 9th evolution stage. Piloted by Manfred Ruhmer, the (topless)
Laminar has achived World Champion status for three consecutive years.

The optimization of chord distribution and of the wingtip airfoils have increased stability
and the speed of turn initiation, making the hang glider easier and more fun to fly, and more
predictable in its response.

The new chord distribution and a slight increase in wingspan have increased the aero-
dynamic aspect ratio, which means that a pilot with a given hook-in weight can fly a
correspondingly smaller size of glider, further improving handling qualities, performance,
and behavior in turbulence.

Improvements in leading edge and trailing edge tension, achieved by fine-tuning the sail
cut, have made it possible to achieve higher performance at all speeds.
